You guys will not believe how many emails I get about my recommendations for Portland Restaurants! I get around to my fair share of places here, so instead of writing email after email saying the same thing, I thought I would do a post about it, google map included! Hot diggity dog! I’ve been to all of these places and the honorable mentions at the bottom are places I’ve heard about that I’m hoping to get to in the next few months. Dig in and enjoy!

{For more photos and details about these restaurants, head over to my Travel Page where I’ve reviewed most of these restaurants individually 🙂 Click over here.}

Tasty n’ Alder– brunch is awesome here! The biscuit sandwiches are pretty stellar!

Salt & Straw–amazing ice cream with funky flavors, this has quickly become a Portland MUST!

Pine State Biscuits–was featured on diners, drive-ins and dives! I like the Reggie 🙂

Screen Door–get in line early because you’ll be waiting for a while. I’d highly recommend the praline bacon!

Tilt–awesome burgers, onion rings, tots and PIE! The pie crust is tah-die-for!

Lardo-truffle fries, ya’ll! And the cold fried chicken sandwich is pretty tasty too!

Blue Star Doughnuts–just, YES. Get here early!

Pok Pok–just get the chicken wings. And order a ton! They are basically coated in caramel. HEAVEN is what they are.

Ken’s Artisan Pizza–wood fired pizza with amazing crusts.

Little Big Burger–smaller burgers with big flavor! The house-made fry sauce is seriously awesome too…and that’s coming from a girl who hates fry sauce.

Papa Hayden–come here for dessert! The dessert menu is basically endless. Mmm….

Gruner–a German restaurant with awesome spatzle!

Podnah’s Pit–BBQ! The brisket and green chile mac and cheese is pretty stellar. Just sayin’.

Two Tarts Bakery–cute, mini desserts! I love the oreos, carrot cake whoopie pies and cheesecake brownies.

Saint Cupcake–one of my favorite cupcake shops in downtown PDX! Simple and tasty.

Waffle Window–this is literally a window in the side of a building. Savory and sweet options here that is great for kids.

Love this list! I was just in Portland and visited over half of your recommendations and they were all great! My hubby is pretty much smitten with Pine State Biscuits and I’m pretty sure he would move to Portland if just for their food! Another cool spot that we love is called the Hilt in the Alberta Arts district…one might pass it without a second glance, but stop in there sometime for their zucchini garbanzo bean burger and fries (that come with melted cheese!!), it’s pretty much the best thing ever (and it’s super cheap during their happy hours)!!!!

We stopped at Blue Star while we were there based on what you told me and you weren’t wrong. Even my picky dad liked their crazy amazing donuts. The Bourbon Blueberry Basil was the rock star of the group! Thanks for the reco!

Papa Hayden was our favorite in college (I went to UP). I have to make more of an effort not to just eat @ Ikea when we come up now! Great list!

Don’t forget Swift Lounge! It’s on the east side not *too* far from MODA on NE Broadway near NE 19th. GREAT food, funky atmosphere and awesome service, not to mention reasonable prices and generous portions. Just be prepared to wait a little on the weekend mornings because they can be *busy*. But well worth it. WELL worth it.

Goodness I’m homesick! I miss my favorite Portland restaurants. I know, I’ve lived here five months now but I’m still such a city girl. I love good food and especially good food that I don’t have to cook. Oh well. I’ll just have to settle for “country food”. However I’m bookmarking this page so I can try some of these out when we head back to town once or twice a month.

Oh! those onion rings and that little burger. My leftover chicken taco soup for lunch just didn’t fit the bill after this post 🙁

My husband and I live in Seattle, but have friends in Portland, so we try to go as much as we can! We LOVE Cafe Nell. Great brunch and they have man-mosas which is a 16 oz glass of champagne with just a splash of OJ 😉

Last year I was in Portland on business for a week. I remember having some of THE MOST DELICIOUS meals. It is such a “foodie” town.
