IMG_0505A few weeks ago, we went to a family reunion with my Father-in-law’s family in Paso Robles, California. We were planning on driving, but at the last minute decided to fly. I’m SO glad that’s what we chose to do! It’s a 13 hour drive PLUS we’d have to stop every 2-3 hours because we have an infant. Yeah, that’s no fun. So, hooray for airplanes!

We flew into San Jose and then drove south to Paso Robles. Of course we stopped and got a little In-N-Out. This was only the second time ever having one of these burgers. I keep forgetting they have a secret menu!! Guess I’ll have to go back again…aw shucks.IMG_0508Once we finally arrived, it was around dinner time {thanks to horrible California traffic…boo}. We were able to meet up with everyone, have a bbq and go swimming! IMG_0010This girl loves to swim!! It’s a good thing she’s all enrolled in swimming lessons 🙂IMG_0053This is one of my favorite photos!! It totally tells you how much she loves the water.IMG_0019More family just relaxing by the pool.IMG_0056Besides a bbq, there was also a whole pig roasting in the backyard too! I’ve never seen anything like it before in real life, so it was cool to watch.IMG_0060Also fun to eat!! We had loads of pork the entire weekend.IMG_0072Brooke and her cousin opted for hot dogs. These little girls are only 6 weeks apart!IMG_0087Blake hung out in the shade with his grandma. Is it just me or does his hair look red?!IMG_0088He was pretty fascinated by the sounds and new faces.IMG_0090“What is that in front of my face?”IMG_0092“Get that camera away from me!!”IMG_0099After our fun pool party, we went to our hotel and rested. It was a looooong but really fun day. The next day we went to the beach! It was cooler there which was more my temperature 🙂 Did I mention is was in the 100’s the entire weekend we were there? YEAH. #killmenowIMG_0122Here is some of our group roaming on the rocks.IMG_0130Gordon and Brooke did their own thing for the most part…IMG_0118My nephew, looking dapper contemplating the complexities of life.IMG_0111My cousin-in-law flying a really fancy helicopter.IMG_0095Cute little crab!IMG_0139I don’t know what this is, but William thought it was really cool.IMG_0524Can you see Brooke hiding in the blankets? She was a little chilly!IMG_0531And, here I am on the beach with le bebe. Poor little dude was passed out cold! We ended up doing a lot more stuff, but I’ll be saving that for upcoming blog posts. Stay tuned!Screen Shot 2013-07-19 at 1.41.33 PMHere’s the whole group together.Screen Shot 2013-07-19 at 1.41.46 PMAnd here is just my in-laws with the family members who were able to make it. Believe it or not, there are 13 people missing from this photo just from our part of the family alone. I married into a large family. And, I thought my family was big!! LOL!

So, that’s what you were up to in Cali 🙂 Thanks for sharing these precious family photos. We love Paso Robles. We were just there for lunch on our way to Santa Barbara a couple of weeks ago. Such a charming little town – not to mention all the wine! I look forward to reading about what else you did while you were here.

Great pics, love family reunions! My kids have requested In-&-Out Burger for lunch before they start school. I have never been so can you spill what the “secret menu is”?

Looks like so much fun! Our Central CA heat has about done us all in! I think this is week 4 or 5 of the 100+ degree days! I’m happy you made it to the beach to cool off. Thanks for sharing Lauren, you’re an awesome mom/cook/blogger!
