Browned Butter Alfredo Pasta

I made this browned butter alfredo pasta and DIED. Died of bliss and pure ecstasy. Basically this pasta is everything good and holy in the world amplified times a million….on a plate and then in my mouth. AAAAANNNNNNDDDDD!! It took 20 minutes to make with only 4 ingredients. PLUS these ingredients are almost always on hand. SNAP.

I live for brown butter and carbs.

pasta alfredo

The browned butter sauce is made just like any other alfredo sauce, except you brown the butter first, then stir in the cream and the cheese. Super easy.

(See the recipe card below for instructions on how to brown butter if you’ve never done it before! Don’t worry it’s easy and one of my favorite things to do in a lot of my recipes!)

alfredo pasta recipe

Toss it together with a pound of pasta and voila! Dinner is done. Pair with broccoli, chicken, garlic bread or whatever else you love to have with pasta!

My husband took a bite of this and said “wow, this is pretty good!” then took another bite and said “yeah, this is REALLY good”.

Obvs. It’s really hard to mess up butter, cheese and pasta. Also, I don’t make bad food. I make good food, really good food. #my4yearoldwoulddisagree

Anyways, you’re going to want to make this immediately. Right now. Today. That is all.

Here’s the printable! Enjoy your Monday, friends.

  1. Browned Butter Alfredo Pasta :: The Barbee Housewife

[…] You could easily serve a protein of your choice on top, but pasta is so filling, I didn’t feel we needed it. My husband has deemed this alfredo sauce his new favorite and I see why, I think browned butter makes everything better. Remember these cookies?  I will have to agree with him, this pasta was pretty delicious.Source: Lauren’s Latest […]

Brown butter is a tasty topper on pasta period. Especially the way the spaghetti factory does it with the mizeretha dish. Good eats.

Seriously, this is sooooo good! Made it again for the second time today. The first time the sauce separated a bit, I think the cream got too joy. This time I paid close attention and it came out perfect! I will never buy a jar of white sauce again!!!

  4. Anna

Do you have any good substitutions for the cheese?? I know that’s weird.. And makes it not Alfredo.. But I’m allergic to cheese /: hoping to revamp my current white sauce recipe into something more substantial 🙂

Man, this looks crazy good! My kiddos and I were perusing Pinterest for meal ideas, and they were all, “Mom. Make that. Put it on the list!” Trying this week!

This pasta tasted pretty good. But the ridiculous amount of butter in here was total overkill. I love pasta, butter, cream, etc. I ate this and felt like I might as well have just eaten a stick of butter. Then I ate the leftovers the next day and after heating them in the microwave there was a literal POOL of butter under all the pasta. We will NEVER make this again! Looks can be deceiving…taste was ok at best and the swimming pool of butter grossed me out.

Pinterest pulled it off of mine as well….. Curious. Lauren, was this your photo or did you pull it from somewhere else?

I think this was a Pinterest error! I’ve had a lot of people copy and paste my posts and pin my photos from their sites, with this recipe especially. So, I reported those people who have violated that copyright infringement. Pinterest instead of deleting the few that were stolen took all of my pins down entirely!! So I’m so sorry! Of course I want you pinning my recipes (from my site)! Sorry for the mix up!

I had this saved on Pinterest so that I could remember to make this someday. I just got a notice from Pinterest that it has been removed
” We’re getting in touch to let you know we received a copyright complaint and have removed one (or more) of your Pins…

If you do not want us pinning your recipes why do you have the pin it button included in your posts? And if it’s about attribution I almost never include the name of the recipe in the info below a pin. I put notes for myself so I can remember what sparked my interest in the recipe when I come back looking for it of see it while browsing for something that looks good for dinner.

I’d be upset too. This was a Pinterest error. People have been literally copying and pasting my entire site (words and photos) into their own sites and pinning my content so they receive the traffic. I reported those sites and Pinterest took ALL the pins down with this image instead of just the ones that were pinned from the incorrect sources. I’d be totally upset too, but it is what it is. Honest mistake on Pinterest’s part. They were just trying to stop the content stealers. SORRY!!

    Hello!
I pinned this recipe from another user on pinterest, and I got a notice today that said the pin was removed due to copyright infringement. I am noticing on your site, you actually HAVE pin buttons on your pictures, so I am wondering if this is some kind of weird pinterest error? I wanted to let you know because if it was me, I would be quite irritated that pinterest had just removed my blog pin from several thousand users pinboards… on the other hand, if you DID tell pinterest to remove it, then my apologies! I also understand it from that angle. LONG story short, haha, I just wanted to let you know that this had happened!

    Hi!
My pin on Pinterest of this recipe got deleted because of copyright. I just pinned it again via the Pin It! icon on your page. I had thought I had pinned it via your page originally, but I may have repinned it from someone else… Hopefully this one won’t get deleted. I keep up with recipes I like this way.

It is a family favorite, btw.

Would half and half work well with this instead of heavy whipping cream or would it end up runny? I can’t do heavy… It’s too rich for my poor, non-gall-bladder-ed tummy. Lol.

  12. Michelle

It was very tasty!! The leftovers aren’t as good… The butter is all at bottom of bowl when re-heated so gobble it all up after making.

  13. Cheryl B.

My family was disappointed with this recipe. It wasn’t creamy and didn’t have any more taste than plain buttered noodles with just a hit of Parmesan . We like our noodles to be saucy and this was bordering on dry.

This is a go-to recipe staple in our house. We always have the ingredients on hand and it’s super quick to make. Plus, carbs & cheese, duh.

  15. KM

This is by far one of my family’s favorite recipes. We have added things like bell pepper, onion, and Italian sausage to really make it a full meal. My son even makes it on his own. We love it!
