These are the only photos I took this weekend to recap our Easter holiday.
Yes, I realize there are only eight photos in this post. Get up off, yo.
I can only get my kids to smile so much. Keep scrolling and you’ll understand. #crazyeyes
We had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard Saturday afternoon with some friends. We kept going back and forth between finding eggs and having to stop and put Blake’s shoes back on his feet. That boy HATES shoes.
We’re trying to encourage walking. Take a guess how well that’s going…
Saturday night we had a game night at our house with our friends which was a ton of fun, I must say. #sodapop #insidejoke #Iwastiredby9pm
Sunday morning we went to church. Brooke was suuuuper thrilled that I took her photo before I let her have a piece of candy. Her new headband is courtesy of the Easter bunny.
After church I decided to test out the self timer on my camera. Guess how many good shots we got of all four of us.
Seriously, take a guess….
Yup, just this one. At least we’re all looking and Brooke looks normal.
Side note: people seriously legitimately ask/email me all the time wondering if her eyes are normal or if we taught her that beloved crazy eye trick.
Yes, her eyes are perfectly normal. No, we didn’t teach her that. She just started doing it one day when she was 18 months old.
Aaaaaaaand there she goes again.
So, yeah. A really well documented holiday. Lol!
We had more friends over for dinner. I made ham and scalloped potatoes. Friends brought salad, ice cream, rolls, more rolls and roasted veggies. We ate like kings and I seriously slept like a rock. It was AMAZING.
I think it was the ham??
Speaking of ham, if you have any ham-related recipes that don’t involve split peas, that would be grand.
Hope you all had a fun, delicious food filled weekend minus the crazy eyes. 😉
I just love Brooke and her googly eyes…
[…] once he’s not that into my hair, pinching or throwing. Brooke actually wore this necklace Easter Sunday. She might be a little more attached to this piece than I am so far. The sparkles draw her in like […]
Great pics and sounds like it was tons of fun! Is that really your backyard? It looks gorgeous! Would love to see more outside pics, those flowers are beautiful
Lauren,
Great pictures. I always hated taking pictures and still do. I made faces all the time too.

I made this recipe last night for my hubby and boys. I added some more spices (onion powder, garlic powder, and fresh minced garlic to add some more flavor) but they all seemed to love it and it was a good way to use some of that leftover ham! http://amysnewkitchen.blogspot.com/2010/03/chicken-cordon-bleu-pasta.html
hahahah totally cracked me up with the crazy eyes, I do that in pictures lol…it’s a talent, right? Those are lovely photos though! Hope you had a wonderful Easter 🙂
Sooooooooooo cute! And since you asked for recipes to use up your leftover ham here is one of my favorites from this year: http://dashingdish.com/recipe/white-bean-ham-soup/. I realize it’s still soup…but it’s delicious…involves clean eating…and doesn’t involve peas 😉
I wonder if her school pictures will have the crazy eyes! hahaha, she’s a funny one.
I love seeing your family pictures and getting a glimpse at how similar Blake and Everett are! Hope you had a peaceful and hopeful Easter season! take care, Becky
LOL at your daughter. That is awesome. She cracks me up. I do not think I have ever posted a comment on your blog, but I read it everyday. Embrace the goofiness even though in pictures it is annoying hahaha. <3
