IMG_0412So, I’m still trying to catch up with my blogging from all these yummy places we went to while in California. There was a lot of yumminess we found for sure. Before we stuffed our faces with cupcakes, we got some seriously tasty falafel at Falafel’s Drive-In. This place was featured on Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives a few years back and since then, I’ve been dying to go. I am a serious falafel lover. I don’t even know why, but they are so so good! In my mind they are uber healthy and figure friendly {haha…NOT} because they are {deep fried} chick pea fritters in a pita with lettuce, tomato, tahini sauce and hot sauce.

Ok, maybe they’re not as healthy as I maybe once thought, but they are certainly some of the best falafel sandwiches I’ve ever had.

IMG_0415This girl was like “falafel what?” so she got a hot dog. Party pooper.IMG_0422We ended up ordering two falafels and a banana shake {which is something else they are know for}. It looks uber messy and not very appetizing, but I assure you this is pure HEAVEN. Falafels aren’t the most photogenic things on the planet.IMG_0428Now, a quick word on these banana shakes. HOLYMOTHERIWANTEDTODRINKTHEWHOLETHING.IMG_0426It was amazing and I was a little mad that this boy drank most of it. Should have left him in the car. IMG_0429Here’s another shot of my husbands falafel. Look close and you can see the falafel balls peeking out at the bottom.IMG_0439Ah!! Here’s another photo of the falafel. Really really tasty. Their sandwiches are some of the best I’ve ever had. And the hot sauce wasn’t too terribly hot and added some sweetness. It was awesome and I’m hoping to find something just as good in Portland.

If you are looking for a hot lunch spot in San Jose, this is the place for sure. Just be sure to get there around 11 when the line is only 10 people long versus noon when it’s literally down the sidewalk and around the corner.
