IR CenterCutCook-78A few weeks ago, my Instagram feed blew up with lots of photos from the Inspired Retreat I attended….basically a nice weekend away in Park City, Utah with some fellow food bloggers. It was meant to be a fun, relaxing weekend where we could hang out, talk about our blogs and pretty much get inspired again. Here’s my quick {ha! ya right!} recap post all about it!

Here are the bloggers that attended this event with me:  CarrianLaurenAnnalise,  MeganDeb,  Meagan,  Alyssa,  Becky,  NikkiBarbaraAshley and Kristy. Click through to all their blogs. They are wonderful! IMG_0222All of us set up camp in this gorgeous home at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City. We seriously got the hook up 🙂IMG_0206And the entire weekend was full of snowy adventures! Look at all that powder!IMG_0204Todo, we aren’t in Portland anymore.IMG_0210Seriously, could you tell I was a little obsessed with the snow? I have a zillion more pictures if you’d like to see…..IMG_0226Upon arrival to the house, you couldn’t help but notice all the holiday decorations! The lovely folks at RodWorks came and decorated the whole house for Christmas. Look at all these cute decorations!IMG_0229I love these lanterns! IMG_0232The front entry table was covered with cute stuff. IMG_0237And there was a cute sign leading guests upstairs to the main living quarters.IMG_0191More decorations upstairs on the huge dining table. Again…the lanterns!! So fun!IMG_0194Here’s a great shot of the dining table leading into the kitchen. Also, there were windows everywhere! Taking pictures of food in this room was amazing. IMG_0213Here’s a shot of the huge fireplace which was at the other end of the great room, opposite of the kitchen.IMG_0221I loved this red wreath, too.

So, umm….I took a zillion photos of all the decorations too. IR CenterCutCook-22Moving on! Friday evening, we had a lovely dinner at Deer Valley. photo-6-600x600There were four of us in the group who had never had fresh oysters before. I don’t know who thought it would be a good idea to get us all together and try them at once. I also don’t know why we’re smiling either because……..IMG_0129-600x450they were gross. Thanks for the pictures, Lauren!

The rest of the dinner was amazing, especially the Buratta Tomato Basil salad. Best buratta I’ve ever tasted. Screen Shot 2013-12-16 at 8.52.50 PMAfter dinner, we headed back to the house for a little late night snacks/blog talk. I made some cookie cups and lemon bars from Krusteaz. Of course they were fail proof and everyone loved them! Screen Shot 2013-12-16 at 8.52.55 PMAlso, can I take a minute and just say there were some seriously good looking bloggers at this retreat?! I swear, this is one profession that has one of the highest percentages of pretty people working in it. Pretty sure that’s a true statistic.Screen Shot 2013-12-16 at 8.53.02 PMI rested well and then was up a few hours later with some of the others for some yoga. Lole came to Deer Valley just for us bright and early! My triceps were killing me a few hours later. Random, right?! Lol! Screen Shot 2013-12-16 at 8.53.10 PMFor breakfast, we had mini muffins, hazelnut granola from Becky {recipe here}, lots of fresh fruit and almond milk. Thanks Pacific Foods for sending everything we could possibly need for our breakfast! IR CenterCutCook-27After breakfast, we were off to ski at Deer Valley! It was -4 out and snowing! Talk about chilly! I’m cold just thinking about it. Picture via AshleyIMG_0239Thankfully, we all brought warm clothes and were fitted with everything we needed. See what I mean about pretty ladies? Haaaaaaay 😉Screen Shot 2013-12-16 at 8.53.18 PMSince I haven’t skied in YEARS and I’m a fraidy-cat, I opted for lessons. My instructor was HILARIOUS. If I bring my family back to Deer Valley, I want Gianni again. Going up the chairlift with this guy? OMG….I was laughing so hard. The random comments mixed with his accent….PRIME. By late morning it was getting colder and the wind started picking up! I got windburn on my cheeks! It was seriously so cold. IMG_0247Once we finished our lessons, we headed back to the house for some hot soup, cocoa and paninis courtesy of Star Fine FoodsHamilton BeachWusthof, and Heber Valley Cheese. I practiced taking pictures of my sandwich on this gorgeous piece of wood from Red Maple Runsaturday dinnerFor dinner Saturday evening, we went into town to The Riverhorse on Main. I only made it through the first three courses before I left early cause I was starting to lose my voice and not feel well AT ALL. The lovely staff brought me tea and anything I wanted from the menu. They were honestly so kind and thoughtful. They even sent me back with my main course in a doggy bag. It was lovely! I was in bed early that night, hoping to feel a tiny bit better by Sunday. IMG_0260Well, come Sunday I was still not feeling my best….BUT! These waffles were a definite step in the right direction! Thanks to Real Food MarketGold Medal Flour, and Hamilton Beach for providing everything we could possibly need 🙂 IMG_0255Seriously, how good do these waffles look? Megan even made oven fried chicken to put on top too 🙂

After breakfast, I had to pack up and head to the airport. I didn’t want to go, but I had to. Sad face. Screen Shot 2013-12-16 at 8.53.27 PMThankfully, our friends at Whole Foods sent us all home with a sack lunch. These sandwiches were amazing! Seriously, this was so nice to bring with me through security and it was a million times better than anything I could buy at the airport. Turkey pesto deliciousness right here.
Screen Shot 2013-12-16 at 8.53.34 PMAnd before I knew it, I was back again with my kiddos 🙂 This little munchkin was the first thing to get in my arms. I think he was happy to see his mama. PS- that cute green scarf was one of the many wonderful things provided to us. Thank you Grace and Lace, it’s my new favorite accessory!

Looks like you had a good time. I would love to visit Utah at winter. I love the snow at winter time but I live in Florida. No snow for me.

What a fun adventure! I wanted to go to the retreat, too, but it was the weekend of Judah’s birthday therefore party craziness was going on in my home. 🙂 Blake is getting so big!! He’s really taken on a new look. Cutie pie!!

Looks like a fab time! Wonderful pictures. Park City looks beautiful — I’d love to explore out there myself! Although I’m not a huge skiier, I do enjoy dressing the part 🙂
