Happy to be sharing a few photos from our vacation to Lake George in upstate New York!
I spent the previous week, just me and the kids in Canada visiting my parents and then after the week was through, my parents drove us back to the states where Gordon met us and we headed over to The Sagamore Resort on Bolton Landing. We had such a relaxing vacation. It was so nice, especially for Gordon and the kiddos, to get out of the city, slow down a little (a lot!) and remember what it’s like to be together all together as a family for more than a few hours at a time.
We hit up the outdoor pools, the breakfast buffet (which had the most amazing breakfast sausages I’ve ever eaten) the kids’ club and the nature trails every day and even got to ride a steam boat and explore different parts of the lake. It is just what the doctor ordered and we were sad to leave, but September is now here and school is only a few days away.
So, here are a few photos from our vacation. I didn’t take as many as I would have liked, but I was too busy relaxing (aaaand I hurt my back. It’s much better than it was last week, but still am taking ibuprofen here and there to help.)
enjoyed the pics. the one of you on the bench should be enlarged and framed !!!
What a beautiful place and that plate of food with the omelet I would love to have right now. I’m glad you got away from the city with your family they are adorable. With all you do I think you needed the break.
Lauren, I live about 1 hour southwest of Lake George, it is a beautiful place. I visit often, to shop in the outlets and have lunch at one of the great restaurants. Glad you all had a good time.
[…] I posted all about our time at Lake George yesterday. It was such a fun trip that was quiet, low key and (mostly) relaxing. Not quite a vacation because KIDS, but a generally low-stress family trip. We really liked staying on Lake George and dreaming of buying one of the houses on one of the itty bitty islands. *Sigh* It’s fun to dream. I do that a lot. Haha! You can read more about our trip here. […]
Beautiful resort…beautiful surroundings. And, just or the record, I really like your hair natural!!!
Oh my goodness, that last shot of you driving reminds me so much of the stretch of freeway headed toward Tualitin in Portland! I thought I was about to read how you were visiting the PNW. Ha.
This place looks so beautiful! Would love to go there some time!
Lauren, I love your blog and the cute pictures and stories about your family. I have enjoyed trying out some of your recipes. I have always wanted to visit NY.
No joke, I showed this to my husband and we started searching east coast real estate! 😂
I was so happy to see you make it up to Lake George! I am a NYC transplant and currently live in Saratoga (about 30 mins south of LG). The Sagamore is one of my favorite spots to visit when we head up there. As soon as you announced that you were moving to NYC, I wanted to suggest it to you since it’s such a family friendly area and a nice breather from the concrete jungle (so much so that I ended up staying here! Lol!)! Your pictures are beautiful and it looks like you enjoyed your time. Hopefully you’ll be back sometime!
Love Lake George!! We used to take our 4 kids almost every year. We loved the drive in, water slide world , and an Italian place called Mario’s.
Love this post because the resort looks amazing! Kind of half expect them to have dance lessons a la Patrick Swayze?
As a fellow LDS who struggles with it a little, your posts give me comfort, thank you 😍😍
Can’t wait to take my husband and son here. He’s almost two, so maybe next summer!
This is great- looking for some nice weekend trips and this looks perfect!
I’m from a small town 20mins south of Lake George. Love having the Adirondacks in my back yard. Dont forget to come back in the winter. Theres a winter carnival on the lake, and you can check out the ice bar the Sagamore has at that time too. Beautiful ice sculptures on the property.
I love to see where you go to retreat from the city with your sweet family. My young grandsons live in the city, with their mom and dad, of course. I visit them and realize how busy life is for them so I’m always looking for possible places to escape the hectic city life. They are still very young, but someday, someday.
I love your family and also how you seem to just go with the flow no matter what life hands you!
What a wonderful treat especially when it includes your family!
So awesome. I think we’re going to try to drive up there in the winter time when I visit my sister. What a fun trip
So glad you were able to spend some quality time with your family. Lake George and the resort you stayed at looked amazing!
Looks like you and you beautiful family had a nice getaway! I’ve never been to the east coast but can never decide what state to visit.
It looks like an amazing family vacation. Even when they are quick trips – time away with the family is always great!
Wow this looks like an incredible trip and experience for your family. I hope to visit there my self some day.
[…] *be sure* it was good. Could I add this? Should I add that? I started making it in August, before we went to Lake George when we were in Canada visiting my parents. I came home, made it a few more times without changing […]
Family vacations are a favorite for us, the quality time outside of the craziness of everyday life is so important. I will be researching a trip to Lake George!
