If you read my vacation recap post, you probably noticed me mention that Gord and I stayed at the Lord Balfour Hotel in South Beach. It’s a cute, newly remodeled hotel on a quieter part of Ocean Drive. We really enjoyed our stay, so I thought I’d share with you a few photos I snapped.
Here’s the front of the hotel…with our rental car out front waiting for the valet.
Before you even walk into the hotel, there are these comfy lounging areas….perfect for reading, eating breakfast or waiting for the valet to get your car. It reminded me a lot of a front porch at a friends’ house.
Here’s a shot of part of the lobby. It’s on the smaller side, but I actually really loved the entire hotel being small. Employees remember your name. You can’t get lost. You get better service.
Gord and I are looking for a larger dining room table and I fell in love with this one AND those chairs!! The only problem is they would never match the rest of the decor we have in our house already. Shucks.
Maybe I’ll get it for our beach house. Lol!! Uh-huh. YA RIGHT.
More seating areas in the lobby.
The hotel also had these pretty gardens behind their building.
We had breakfast here one morning too 🙂 The weather was perfect post workout.
Our room ended up being on the 3rd floor…310, I think?! Anyways, this is what you saw when you first walked in….minus our luggage.
King beds are the bomb. We sleep on a queen at home and it’s super comfy but not nearly as roomy. It was a treat to have so much room! I wanted to take all those pillows home with me too. So so comfy!!
Immediately walking in, I noticed this mirror and the one next to the bed. The room is on the smaller side, but the windows paired with all the mirrors made it light and bright and bigger than it seemed.
Desk and media area with complementary prosecco! Thanks, Lord Balfour!
I love these cute little bottles on the mini bar. I don’t drink but thought they were adorable. Lol!
In the bathroom, there was an amazing rainfall shower head with beautiful glass doors. We’re going to be redoing our master bathroom this summer and this shower is almost exactly what I want to do! I seriously made Gordon come into the bathroom with me to look at all the details about the shower. Lol! We’re just so cool like that.
Sink was right next to the shower with the toilet sandwiched between the sink and the wall.
And of course I took a picture of these mini shampoos and conditioners!! I love mini things so much….it’s a problem.
Every morning, the hotel serves a continental breakfast with pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, etc. It was just the right stuff I needed to start my day.
They also had complimentary slippers in the room and all the tv channels you could ever possibly want. #nickatnitefordays
Did I mention I love their initials? When I was given the wifi password, I saw that ‘LB’ was part of it and I literally thought “aw, precious! They made me a special wifi password.” And the my husband was like “umm, NO. Not exactly.” Lol! Oops.
A few other things worth mentioning:
-they reserve chairs and umbrellas for you at the beach! You just take the 2 minute walk to the beach and voila! You have the perfect semi-private spot on the beach. It’s the best service ever.
-their location on Ocean drive is perfect if you want a quiet getaway and want to skip over the ‘nightlife’ Miami is known for. We drove all of Ocean Drive at night and couldn’t believe how loud the streets were. Karaoke, clubs, restaurants and drunk people for dayyyyz. And then a few more blocks down the road is the Lord Balfour. It really was in the perfect spot for us.
-they have an always stocked beverage dispenser filled with lemon lime water in the lobby. I thought at first it was weird, but then after arriving at the hotel post beach snooze/post workout/post window shopping and I was ready to guzzle the whole thing. Florida humidity can and will kill me. It was so refreshing to drink. Even though it was a smaller detail of our entire stay, I really enjoyed it being an option.
Anyways, we had a really relaxing few days at the Lord Balfour and would recommend it if you ever decided to head South to Miami!

I am impressed you worked out on vacation! I always have good intentions and then it never happens. What a lovely hotel too. Looks like a must when in South Beach. Thanks for sharing.
I want to know what the hairy stuff is over bed/headboard?
It’s a picture of a woman.
I love smaller hotels like this – the service is usually so great! This looks like such a great hotel – I’ll remember it for next time I’m in Florida!
I am with you…obsessed with mini anything….liquor, shampoo, lotion….
I am obsessed with mini alcohol bottles too. They are so cute. My unpractical self would buy a whole bunch to keep in our guest room for a home mini bar.
