You guys, with this pregnancy brain I have, I completely forgot I have a zillion more photos to share with you from when I was in Paris this past Fall! It took me a while to get through my 1000+ photos I took {yes, I literally took over one thousand pictures!} but I powered through and made it happen. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Where to stay

While Sommer, Amanda, Stephanie and I were in Paris, we decided that the best bang for our buck would be staying at a vacation rental instead of a hotel. Sometimes I prefer hotels and other times, I prefer vacation rentals. This time, it made a lot of sense to be located in a more centralized location so nothing was too far to walk or take an uber to. We used Girls Guide to Paris Apartment Rentals and stayed on the Ile St. Louis, very close to Notre Dame. Our apartment was quite large and had all the amenities we needed. And actually, the owner of this apartment just had a cocktail recipe book come out! Coincidence? I think not! Also on Girls Guide to Paris site are all sorts of available apartments for rent! We were able to tour a few that I would LOVE to visit on my next trip 😉 {Amanda took some great photos here.}

What to do

Besides eating all the wonderful food Paris has to offer, we definitely tried to see all the sites we could possibly see over our 8 day stay. One way we were able to do with was with a Segway Tour {through Fat Tire Tours}. This was one of the highlights of the entire trip! Our tour guide was hilarious and kept us in a great mood the entire time {even though we were freezing in the wind and rain!} We got to see all sorts of landmarks and because we were on our Segways, our feet didn’t get worn out {though mine were aching just about every day, thanks to pregnancy.}

Notre Dame
Since we were staying relatively close to the Notre Dame, it was easy to walk by almost daily to see this beautiful building! An Architects DREAM. This building is so so beautiful and I was so impressed that it’s still in great shape today. When we went it, we had to be quiet because there was a mass going on too. I guess they’re held daily?! Pretty cool. Be sure to go early in the morning to avoid lines and lots of tourists 🙂

Walking through Montmartre

Montmartre is a spot in Paris built on lots of hills! Lots of cute shops and beautiful, colorful buildings! I loved exploring this neighborhood.

Arc de Triomphe
 The day we traveled to the Arc de Triomphe was not the best day weather-wise, but it was definitely a sight to see! And we even got to take an uber around it!! Talk about insanity. 8 lanes of traffic, no speed limit, no lines on the road kind of insanity. So glad me and my unborn child made it out alive. The uber driver actually said being aggressive and fast while you’re driving around the Arc is how you make it out alive. Whatever dude!! Glad that ride was over really quick 🙂

Rue Cler
Rue Cler is a cute little shopping street full of street vendors, shops, delicious food and of course all that beautiful architecture! I love all these quaint little streets. Every single street in Paris was beautiful. They don’t tear down and rebuild, they restore ALL of their buildings. It’s why it’s such an amazing city!!

Walking Tours
 On this trip, we were also able to participate in two walking tours. Really fun stuff and a new way to see beautiful Paris!! We did the Succulent Paris Walking Tour {down and around Rue De Levis} as well as Edith’s Paris walking tour. Two very different takes on the city.

Eiffel Tower

Of course, we spent a lot of time at the Eiffel Tower, walking around it, watching it sparkle and taking lots of pictures of this gorgeous landmark at sunset!! This is just the epitome of Paris, is it not?

    Lauren – These pictures are absolutely gorgeous! My husband traveled to Paris at the end of October with a team of people for the purpose of praying there. He sent some pictures of the Eiffel Tower back to me. I hope I can go with him some day and this post is my favorite go-to one to keep me encouraged. Fat Tire Tours and your notes about your trip are keepers! Thanks!

    I love this. My husband and I are planning to travel to Paris in the spring and I’m researching! I found you through Amanda Bottoms, who I’ve known since she was a little girl. 🙂

    My daughters and I spent time in Paris in the fall of 2013. It is a wonderful place to visit. My favorite thing was taking a cruise on the Seine one evening. I loved the Eiffel Tower lit up. And it was amazing how many people sit along the Seine in the evening.

    The apartment looks beautiful. My husband and I went on our honeymoon to France and spent 4 days in Paris. We would love to go back sometime (helps that he is also fluent in French and has friends over there).

    We visited Paris a few years ago and loved it. Such a beautiful city. We did a couple of Pink Vest Walking tours and really enjoyed them. I found the Parisians to be helpful and friendly.
