There have been so many of you that have been asking what appliances I’ve been working with in my kitchen. Well, today is the day that I give you all the details you’ve been looking for!!
First things first- I got all my appliances from KitchenAid for my kitchen: a range, hood, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave-oven. I’ve been using them for about a month now and haven’t found anything I don’t like! Everything about them either makes cooking faster or my life easier. Over the next few months, I’ll show you exactly what I mean with each appliance. But for now, we’ll stick with the basics.
First up: My KitchenAid 36-inch Commercial-Style Dual Fuel Range. This is the appliance that I’ve gotten most questions about. You all have fallen in love with it and I don’t blame you! It’s amazing all the different functions this range has PLUS, it’s just so pretty to look at!
The functions I’ve used so far are: the gas cook top {obvs}, the bake function, the convection bake function, the broiler and the bread proof function. All work really well! I was especially impressed with how evenly the broiler worked and how fast my dough rose using the bread proofing function. I’m so making cinnamon rolls just to see how fast they’d be done 🙂
Above the range is the KitchenAid 36-Inch 600 Series Wall-Mount Canopy Hood. This has one really powerful fan and it comes on automatically if things are getting a little too smokey! How cool is that?
The fridge we chose was the KitchenAid 22 cu.ft. Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator. I don’t like fridges with the ice and water dispensers on the outside so this was an easy choice for me because…
they were built in on the inside! Cold filtered water with the press of a button!
Hello instant ice maker! I love having a bucket of ice at the ready for smoothies and drinks, especially during the warmer months of the year.
One more thing I love about my freezer is this skinny pull out shelf in between the two larger ones. Great use of space, and so handy for the freezer meals my Mom whipped up! There’s some pizza dough, swiss chicken and spaghetti sauce all right there!
Now, this dishwasher is the the quietest dishwasher EVER. The first time I filled it up and turned it on, I thought it was broken because it wasn’t making any noise!! Seriously. It’s amazing.
This is the KitchenAid 24-Inch 6-Cycle/7-Option Dishwasher and oh, how I love the heavy duty function! Works like a charm on all those plates and bowls I don’t want to scrub!
Last but not least, we installed the KitchenAid 1.4 cu.ft. Capacity Architect Series II 30 inch Built In Microwave Oven into our island. My friend Machel built her microwave into her island and I thought it was such a smart idea that I did it too! I wasn’t sure at first what to do with a microwave oven because I’ve never had one before, but it’s perfect to have around when you’re cooking a small batch of cookies and don’t want to turn on your actual oven. OR, if you have some freezer meals you need to cook quickly, then this is the perfect appliance. There are lots of other fun functions built into this too, but I’ll be focusing more on those in the near future! Stay tuned!
Thanks, KitchenAid for making our kitchen gorgeous! We love all our appliances and think they take our kitchen over the top.
Hi Laura,
I noticed that your dishwasher and refrigerator are side by side. Do you experience any efficiency issues as a result? I am contemplating the same placement for my appliances.
No, never have!
Awesome to hear! Thanks!

Hi! Love this post even though it’s a few years old. How are you now liking everything? I especially want to know about the practicality of the microwave being down low. Thanks!
I don’t mind it at all 🙂 And my kids can microwave with ease.
Lauren, I have the same stove but can’t seem to find the stove guard accessory for the back of the stove. What did you use? I like that there is not a stainless steel back stove guard on yours. If you didn’t use anything how did you solve the problem of the big gap between your stove and the wall?
We had someone come install a gas line and then appliance installers come put everything in. They were able to butt it up right against the back of the wall because the gas line was maneuvered somehow to not be in the way. Like even before they did any work, they looked at the stove and installed the line based on some measurements that would get everything to line up and fit accurately, so no guard needed. I really don’t have any more information then that! I said it needs to be right up against the wall and that’s what they did! Good luck 🙂

Love your new kitchen ,I could go for at least one appliance to help out here like your dishwasher.I have to say I have never seen a range that size before but I did grow up in the middle of nowhere lol.
Complete kitchen envy! I love your remodel and the appliances you picked are great! We have had a KitchenAid Fridge for 10 years and LOVE it!
