Hello! I’m Lauren and this is my blog!
You probably found me via the recipes I post on social media or because the search engine gods were smiling down on you today. Either way, welcome! I’m glad you’re here!
To help you navigate my site and understand what you will find here, let me take a hot second to explain: Lauren’s Latest is a blog about food, family and travel.
The recipes you will find on my site are easy to make, pantry-friendly and normally kid-friendly too, with a few “lets trick the kids and hide the veggies” recipes too. I test my recipes anywhere from 2-8 times to ensure I’ve giving you the best possible recipe for success. I also think its important to note that I have never met a carb I didn’t like soooo you will definitely see a lot of rolls and pizza and cookie recipes. Actually, my pizza dough recipe is one of my most popular recipes.
If you’re looking for more recipes, my recipe index is a great place to start. You can also browse my reader’s favorites here as well.
I send out weekly meal plans every Monday night with dinner ideas to help you create a menu for you and your family. If you’d like to receive those meal plans plus email notifications about new recipes & posts being added to my ever-growing catalogue, sign up here.
Along with testing recipes and taking pictures of said recipes, I also sarcastically write about being a Mom, what its like having three kids in a tiny New York City apartment and how lovely it would be to run away to Tahiti with just my husband for a freaking vacation.
By far the most popular series on my blog is “This Week at the Brennan’s” where I recap the week we’ve had and talk about what we are looking forward to in the week to come. It’s half “look what we’re up to!” and half “look what we found in NYC”.
Basically, I’m a working mom of three who lives off of diet coke and bread. In full disclosure, I wear fat pants the vast majority of the time because my large thighs cannot be contained. I don’t usually apply makeup because I know by the end of the day I’ll be too tired to take it off plus I strongly dislike lipstick. Dishes are my nemesis and dry shampoo makes it seem like I have my life together. I legitimately make decisions based on how sane or insane it will make me and I’m awkward in social situations. You can read more about me and how this lovely blog started on my FAQ page.
Sometimes our family of five ventures out on family vacations because being a circus in NYC isn’t enough work for us. We’ve gone to some pretty fun places and continue adding to the list as the years go by! You can see everywhere we’ve been here.
And because I live in New York City, I get a lot of inquiries about places I’d recommend. You can read my NYC Travel Guide here.
