Tuna Lemon Pepper Sliders from www.laurenslatest.comThis week is the last Land O’Lakes Sauté Express® Sauté Starter recipe! We’re wrapping up the Weeknight Wins Blogger Challenge. We hope you’ve had fun, and tried some easy recipe ideas from our Pinterest Board. If you haven’t pinned yet, now is your last chance to pin away!

This weeks’ theme is Express Yourself! So, I went a little out of the box and came up with these awesome Tuna Lemon Pepper Sliders. They are SO simple to make and taste awesome! They can be made in 20 or 30 minutes and all start with canned tuna! Suck on that, pocketbook! I cook these on the stovetop in some Lemon Pepper Sauté® Express Sauté Starter and serve them on Hawaiian sweet rolls with lettuce, tomato and a little homemade tartar sauce. My husband LOVED these and surprisingly so did my 4-year-old. Like we didn’t have to bribe her to finish. She just gobbled them up. That’s how you know this is an awesome recipe. 🙂 Also, make sure you use dill pickles in the homemade tartar sauce and not the sweet kind. Sweet pickles should be illegal. That is all. Here are the details: IMG_0375 Start by making your patties. All that goes into these are two cans of drained tuna, an egg, scallions, salt, pepper, Old Bay Seasoning and bread crumbs (or ground oats). Stir this up and form into six sliders that are about ¾-inch thick. IMG_0451 Now we can put two of these lemon pepper Sauté Express® Sauté Starter squares into a skillet and melt them over medium heat. IMG_0385Put your tuna sliders into the pan and cook about 4 minutes a side or until browned. IMG_0391Like so! Once these are all cooked, remove from the pan and set aside. IMG_0404You can use store bought tartar sauce, or make your own. This is just mayonnaise, dill pickles, lemon juice, dill, cayenne, salt and pepper. Super simple and a tiny bit spicy. IMG_0407To assemble these sliders, grab 6 small rolls, slice in half, top with lettuce, tomato, one of the tuna sliders and that tartar sauce. That’s it! Easy Peasy. IMG_0436

These look great, however, I can’t find the Saute Express. Do you have any recommendations for substitutions?

Oh…my, the kitchen is my sanctuary. My pantry a treasure trove. I think if I kept these LOL Gems of Flavor in my trove I could grab a little of this and a bit of that and in the end all I would hear is that I am happy eating this hum. Love when people hum and sigh when eating my creations. I am planning a winter veggie soup with one of LOL flavors. Maybe use the lemon pepper also to makes a mussels dish with crusty bread for stopping up that lemon pepper, herby goodness. Thanks for sharing and getting the ideas going.

i am going to try the recipe for the Lemon Pepper Tuna Sliders but my fave way to use Saute Express is chicken cooked in the Teriyaki Saute Express and served with fried rice.

I actually think I would try these tuna sliders but leave out the bun part and make a tuna cake, like a crab cake. Sounds delicious!

  5. Barbara

I would make a stir fry with chicken, my favorite meat and i love stir fry with lots of veggies and sauce. Sauce express would take some work out of that meal on a busy work night.

I made these for dinner last night…I am speechless!! These tuna patties are absolutely to die for. I doubled the recipe and was able to made 6 patties. Five patties were made with 1/3 cup of the mixture and 1 patty was made with 1/2 cup of the mixture. I must say though that I’m not a huge fan of the Saute Express Starters because the butter burns easily even though I added a bit of oil. The lemon-pepper flavor did shine through though. These patties are so dense and flavorful. We paired them w/a side salad of cabbage, kale, shredded carrots, white beans, and avocado (w/a lemon-balsamic vinegar dressing). We cannot wait to add these to our meal plan again. These patties were completely gourmet and delightful.

I made these again for dinner last night. I can’t get over how delicious they are!! This time we had them on buns with avocado and tartar sauce. They were absolutely delightful. The creaminess of the avocado, the tang of the tartar sauce, the hint of Old Bay, and the slight tang from the lemon pepper butter makes for a mouthful of flavor. I cannot wait for lunch today!!! I love leftovers.

I think I would try the saute to make shrimp franchese or scampi. I have to prepare gluten-free recipes and tend to rely on shrimp as the protein. I might also try it to prepare a pasta primavera.

I love to express myself by trying new wacky flavor combinations! I get some great (and some not so great mistakes) dishes that are truly unique!

  9. Kim

I express myself in the kitchen with food, of course! The type of food I’m making (sweet, savory, fatty, healthy) are all extremely representative of my mood.

I like to try new things in the kitchen, and focus on expanding my family’s culinary horizons…not always met with cheers, but they are good sports!

  11. Nutmeg Nanny

This recipe looks delicious! I’m not a fan of tuna but I’d use the starter kit to make this for my husband 🙂

I express myself in the kitchen in two ways:
    1. I get in the kitchen and cook! It is my after work therapy.
    2. I try new recipes all the time and make my patient husband the guinea pig. He let’s me know if it’s a keeper, or something I can make “when he’s out of town” 🙂

  13. kristen

I would make some shrimp in the lemon pepper starter and then thrown in some fettuchini. Maybe add some spinach? Quick and delicious!

I express myself by cooking for my family. I enjoy having them at home and seeing them enjoying the food. This grandma is grateful .

These look so good! Definitely need to make them for dinner. I buy these butters and haven’t really used them in a different way like you have done here. I think I would do a salmon burger!

  16. Danielle Adams

I would LOVE to make this recipe! I never thought of making my tuna cakes into a slider, Now I know what I am making for dinner tomorrow! I just might add some peppers.

I try to “express” myself by researching recipes, and sometimes trying to put my own “spin” on them! The Saute Express Starters are a great foundation to build any recipe on!!! 🙂
