Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 20 caramels unwrapped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • coarse salt


  1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  2. Add rice krispie cereal. Stir until well coated. Using buttered fingers, spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Set aside. In a small bowl, microwave caramels and cream until thoroughly melted and smooth. Cut into squares and drizzle with caramel and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Best if served the same day.
