  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup milk

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheet with non stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In large bowl, stir flours, baking soda and sugar together. Cut cold butter into dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or a fork until it's the size of small peas. {If you are using a stand mixer, just use the paddle attachment and stir on low for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.} Stir in milk until just combined and scoop by the tablespoon onto prepared sheet tray. You can either make 12 small biscuits or 8 large. Bake 12-15 minutes or until bottoms are lightly golden brown. Serve warm with butter.
