Ingredients

  • 4 store bought kaiser rolls found in the bakery section
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large large clove garlic grated
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning*
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder not to be confused with garlic salt!
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place kaiser rolls onto a sheet tray lined with foil. Cut 1 inch sections 3/4 of the way down into the rolls one way and then more slits perpendicular the other way.
  • Melt butter with garlic and seasonings in the microwave and brush tops of rolls liberally. Sprinkle with cheese, being sure to get some into the cracks and crevices. Bake 4-5 minutes or until cheese has melted and bread it hot. Cool a few minutes before serving, especially to kids! Or impatient husbands.....cough cough Gordon.
  • *if you do not have italian seasoning, use 1/4 teaspoon oregano, 1/4 teaspoon basil, 1/4 teaspoon parsley flakes and 1/4 teaspoon thyme
