  • 6 cups vanilla ice cream softened
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips chopped
  • 6 candy canes smashed
  • 1/2 tablespoon peppermint extract start with this amount and work your way up


  • First, start by emptying the entire container of ice cream into the large bowl of a stand mixer. Loosen it up by mixing it by itself for a few seconds.
  • Smash your candy canes by putting them in a thick storage bag and banging away. You want pretty small pieces. Same with the chocolate! Chop it pretty small.
  • Pour in the chocolate, candy canes and extract into the bowl of ice cream.
  • Stir it all around until well combined.
  • Pour it back into the empty vanilla ice cream container and re-freeze until it firms up! That's it! Enjoy!
