Ingredients

  • 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 10 ct hot dogs or 14 oz pack of Cocktail Smokies
  • mustard for eyes (or edible candy eyeballs)
  • ketchup for dipping (optional)
  • mustard for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Roll out the crescent dough. Press dough together at perforations, creating a solid sheet. Use a pizza cutter slice thin strips for "bandages", about 1/4 inch wide each.
  • Wrap the strips of dough around the hot dogs and/or mini cocktail sausages, starting at the very top, leaving a small gap for the mummy eyes and taking the pieces of dough all the way to the end of the hot dog.
  • Take another strip of crescent dough and double wrap in the opposite direction to look like bandages.
  • Bake your wrapped hot dogs on an ungreased cookie sheet for 9-12 minutes or until the dough is a light golden brown.
  • Remove from oven. Dab a couple dots of mustard to create eyes or attach edible candy eyeballs for a spooky touch. The pigs in a blanket are super cute with one eyeball to create a cyclops. Get creative with expressions!
  • Serve warm on a platter with ketchup and mustard for dipping, if desired.
