Deviled Ham Recipe

A classic Deviled Ham Salad recipe my 90+ year old grandmother has been making her whole life. Ham, pickles, onion, celery and mayo create the best sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ham thick sliced or large chunks of leftover ham
  • 1/2 cup celery finely diced
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles finely diced
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion finely diced
  • 1/4 cup real mayonnaise
  • salt* to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place ham in food processor and pulse until finely minced. Don't let it go so long that it starts to get pasty.
  • Transfer to a large bowl and add remaining ingredients, stirring until well combined.
  • Serve on bread as a sandwich or with crackers.

Notes

*taste before seasoning as ham can tend to be quite salty already

Storage Instructions

Store deviled ham in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days. Stir before serving if any moisture separates.
Freezing is not recommended since the mayonnaise base changes texture after thawing.
Make ahead by preparing the mixture up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerating until ready to serve.
