Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip is a combination of some of my favorite flavors- bacon {obviously}, cheddar and ranch mixed into one dip! It is delicious with vegetables and crackers. Be careful though because it’s SO addicting! If you are looking for an additional dip to try, this Mom’s *Famous* Salmon Dip is amazing!

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip | A Summertime Dip

There is nothing much better than enjoying yummy food by the pool with family and friends to kick off the summer season…which is why I created this Cheddar Bacon Ranch dip. For all your poolside snacking needs. Or just snacking needs. I’m not biased. If you have a stomach, you will like this dip.

I love using cheddar and cream cheese together with the addition of sour cream. All three products lend different tastes and textures to make this dip the tastiest it can be. Plus the bacon doesn’t hurt either. Swing by the refrigerated dairy section next time you’re at the store and pick up some cheddar and cream cheese! Main Ingredients Needed

Start off by making your list and gather up these ingredients to make Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip. You’ll want to set out your cream cheese to allow it to be room temperature.

  • Cream Cheese + Sour Cream– Whipped together, are the base of this dip!
  • Ranch Dressing Powder– I used the Hidden Valley brand but you can use whichever brand you’d like. Tons of flavor in here!
  • Green Onions–  sliced. Adds oniony flavor.
  • Bacon- cooked and crumbled. Either by the store-bought pre-cooked, pre-crumbled kind or make bacon in the oven and crumble it yourself!
  • Cheddar Cheese– grated. I like to use sharp, but feel free to use mild if desired.

How To Make Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip | Directions

For full details on how to make Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip, see the recipe card down below 🙂

Step 1: Measure Ingredients

Start by measuring out some sour cream, cream cheese, green onion and ranch dressing mix in a large bowl. I used a stand mixer, but you can use whatever. Handmixer, blender, stir by hand. It don’t mattah.

Stir it up until it’s completely smooth and creamy.

Step 2: Add Bacon

Now comes the heavenly goodness. Cook up some bacon to a happy medium between crispy and chewy….then chop it up into bits. I used a mini chopper, but feel free to use whatever.

Dump all that bacon into the bowl along with a ton of shredded cheddar cheese.

Step 3: Serve

Stir it up and voila! Your dip is done.

Spoon it into a bowl, top with some bacon {if you have any left} and serve with veggies and crackers.

  • celery
  • carrots
  • crackers
  • mini bell peppers
  • potato chips
  • broccoli
  • pretzel sticks
  • zucchini or yellow squash (cut long ways)

I made this dip for the first time last night, on a whim. I didn’t have any green onions, so I substituted a container of cream cheese with chive spread I had. Seemed to work ok. Anyway, dip was delicious.

I have a friend allergic to onions so needed to omit the scallions. Used the Spicy Ranch mix for additional flavor and it was divine! Thank you, Lauren.

I have made this for years with just mayo –
I like the idea of doing cream cheese, yogurt and Ranch Dressing.

I’m Australian, could you use french onion soup powder instead. ? I’ve never seen ranch dressing mix here either

    1. Lauren

No, it’s not the same!! Do you have regular bottled ranch dressing? That might be a good thing to add in with a little extra salt & pepper.

That’s the weekend I got married! Celebrating 7 years officially on the 27th (we like to celebrate the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend every year) and expecting our first baby 8/1 🙂

This looks so amazing! We don’t have ranch dressing powder in the UK, what do you think would be the best substitute? I’ve found a recipe for homemade ranch dressing powder on Gimme Some Oven, but it needs powdered buttermilk, which is another thing I’ve never seen in the UK! Help! I have a very strong desire to eat this dip now!!
