Dear Santa,
I’ve been a good girl this year. Not an over-achiever, but I’d say pretty good. I know I could do better…blah blah blah… so I’m not expecting much from you. Plus I’m an adult and I know you make the rounds for the kids. But hopefully {since my wish list isn’t very long} I’ll see those 3 gifts under my tree Sunday morning.
As incentive to come to our house, I’ve enclosed some photos of the cookies I will have here waiting for you. They are called Chewy Jumbo Double Chocolate Candy Cane Kiss Cookies and I’ve purposely made them with extra chocolate, extra candy, extra love and packed them full of calories….’cause that Mrs. Clause likes you burley.
Here is what I will do on the evening of the 24th:
{1}Gather my ingredients–>do you guys get Scharffen Berger up at the North Poll?
{2} Cream butter and sugar together
{3} Stir in an egg
{4} Stir in some vanilla
{5} Whip it together
{6} Combine all dry ingredients
{7}Pour them into the bowl
{8}Chop up my Scharffen Berger Chocolate
{9} Chop up my Candy Cane Kisses
{10} Pour those into my dough
{11} Mix
{12} Fill up the muffin top pan with the dough {I’ll leave this pan out for you to take back to Mrs. Clause ’cause I know Chicago Metallics doesn’t Fed-Ex their stuff up North}
{13} Bake until perfectly chewy–about 13 minutes!
Thank you in advance for the great gifts! Hope you enjoy the cookies!
Merry Christmas! xoxo
Sincerly,
Lauren Brennan

Chocolate Candy Cane Kiss Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1 cup vanilla sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped Candy Cane Kisses heaping
- 2 oz semi sweet dark chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray muffin top pan with non stick cooking spray and set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy. Stir in egg and vanilla. Scrape sides and mix again.
- Stir in all dry ingredients until just incorporated. Stir in chopped kisses and dark chocolate by hand.
- Spoon about 1/4 cup batter into each cavity and flatten lightly. You want to be careful not to over fill!!
- Bake 13 minutes or until edges are done and middle looks matte but still soft in the middle. Cool 5-10 minutes in the pan and remove to cool completely. Serve warm or room temperature with milk.
Can I make these on a cookie sheet and smaller size (to get more to pass around?) I would imagine so, but thought I would ask!
I made these with dairy-free margarine and subbed the kisses and chocolate pieces for candy cane chunks and they were so so good and best of all completely dairy free!! thanks lauren!!
Well I am on my way over now!
Yum! I love big cookies, especially when they are nice and soft in the center. Your recipe sounds divine, I bookmarked this recipe for next year’s holiday season.
Merry Christmas!

If I was Santa, I’d definitely bring you lots of presents for one of these cookies! Happy holidays to you and your family Lauren!
Lauren, Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for the most wonderful year of recipes. I love following you.
LOVE chewy cookies!!!! They look fantastic! I have never seen those candy kisses, so I have to keep my eyes open for them.
Wow…chocolatey goodness!! Santa is going to be overjoyed and may even ask you for more :).
I am sure Santa will love these! I could not resist them I am sure! Haha 🙂
these cookies look perfect!
and thanks for the camera info in your tweet yesterday. I have the 50mm 1.8 lens but never use it! I use my 24-70mm but everyone gets such great results w/ their Nifty Fifty, I should dust mine off!
What if you don’t have a muffin top pan? Will a cookie sheet do?
Thank you for all of the spectacular recipes! I can’t wait to try these. I need to get one of those muffin top pans…probably too late to add it to this year’s list though. Bummer. I’m sure Santa and Mrs. Claus are going to make sure you get exactly what’s on your list;o) I bet you are a favorite stop!
This sounds lovely! Any jumbo cookie sounds good in my books 🙂
Awesome. Best Santa letter I’ve every heard of! I’m sure he’ll come through for you.
Oh my gosh. Can I live in your kitchen? Yum!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas to my EYE BALLS.
(and to you! xoxo)
Yummmmm. I could so go for a giant chewy melty cookie right now. I hope Santa brings you what’s on your wish list! :):)
Love my muffin top pan for cookies. These look great!
