Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Chocolate Covered Pretzels are perfect to make with the kids in your life! It’s so easy for them to make and clean up is a breeze! I had my kiddos help me make these chocolate covered pretzels and it kept them quiet and entertained for at least half an hour! It’s a lot of fun dipping the pretzels, but even more fun to decorate them. And if your fingers happen to ‘slip’ and get covered in chocolate, so be it! Thats just a risk I’m willing to take.

If you’re feeling like making a cute little present, pop the dried pretzels into cellophane bags and tie them with some cute ribbon! I thought they were pretty adorable

Main Ingredients Needed

You don’t need a whole lot for these Chocolate Covered Pretzels, maybe like 4 ingredients. Yeah, I told you it was easy! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Chocolate – this can be any type of chocolate you like (milk, dark, white) or you can even use colored candy melts (that would be perfect for any sort of holiday event). You can use chocolate chips like me or a higher quality of chocolate.
  • Vegetable oil– this helps the chocolate thin out slightly as it melts and adds a shine.
  • Pretzels – and of course, you’ll need pretzels. Original sized or mini, or even the rods work too!
  • Toppings – these are optional but make the whole treat a lot more customizable and fun. More on this below!

Chocolate Covered Pretzels FAQs

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

Yes! Chocolate covered pretzels last for about 2 weeks in a sealed container at room temperature.

Do these need to be refrigerated?

Nope! But if you are worried about them melting at room temperature, there is no harm in storing these in the fridge.

Why is my chocolate thick?

It has either been overheated or seized by being introduced to water. You can’t fix these issues so make sure you dry all utensils and that you slowly and steadily heat the chocolate. Start over if you need to!

My chocolate isn’t as drizzly as I’d like it to be, what do I do?

Add a small amount of fat (butter, canola/vegetable oil, or coconut oil) then mix. Be careful though, if you add too much fat, the chocolate won’t stick to the pretzel.
