This Apple Blue Cheese Salad is full of caramelized almonds, blue cheese crumbles, red grapes, and topped with an apple cider maple dressing.
YOU GUYS. I’ve been trying to write this post for the last two hours and I keep getting side tracked. First it was watching clips of The Voice. Then it was replying to emails. Then it was looking at my kids as itty bitty babies on my Instagram account. I’ve realized that {1} I could never get through a serious conversation with the name ‘Sugar Jones’ {2} too many random spammers know my email addresses exist {3} my babies are not babies anymore. One of these days I’m going to demand them to stop growing. But, typically my children don’t listen to me, so what good will that do? Also, that pesky biology/evolution/growth thing gets in the way too.
The universe is against me. #conspiracy
In other news, I made a fabulous salad that is perfect for Fall! Full of those amazing apples we all know and love this time of year. Also included: blue cheese crumbles, grapes {yes, grapes!} and caramelized almonds. If you’ve never made your own caramelized almonds, you are in for a treat. They are so so good and surprisingly easy to make! This is the recipe I used.
Now, for the dressing: I used my favorite salad dressing recipe, but used apple cider vinegar to be a little more…..festive? Sure. Also, I really like the zing it brings to this salad. There are a lot of sweet ingredients in this, so its nice to have a dressing that cuts the sweet just a touch.
If you’re a fan of sweeter salads, this is the recipe for you. It’s crunchy, sweet, tangy, creamy and just fabulous 🙂 I have a feeling you’re gonna love it! Printable below. Have a great weekend, friends!
