IMG_0239Is anything better than butter? BROWNED BUTTER!

If you’ve never ever made this, and then mixed it into some frosting–you need to stop what you’re doing and go make this right now. I made this cake a few weeks ago for Better Homes and Gardens blog and just DIED over the results. I love the nutty almost maple flavor that the browned butter gives in the frosting. It’s seriously so tasty! Especially with a little dash of cinnamon on top of super moist cake! Mmm….

IMG_0217If you’re wanting to brown butter, then all you do is throw some into a small saucepan, place it over medium low heat and watch it like a hawk. Once things start looking all golden, then you’re done! Super simple to do and you’ll be amazed at what a difference it makes in all sorts of recipes.

My favorite use for browned butter is adding it to frosting. But added to a crumb topping for a casserole is wonderful.

I made a browned butter pumpkin cake last fall, but I think the
pumpkin hid the butter flavor. I’d love to do the banana cake with browned butter icing, although I’m intrigued by the idea of chocolate chip cookies made that way……

Well, this cake looks really awesome, but I’d use my butter to make your banana cake with browned butter frosting. It’s one of the favorites in our house!

I’d love to making pancakes with my 2 yr old. He loves helping me in the kitchen and those are one of his favorite. 🙂

I’ve never browned butter before, but your cake looks delicious. I think I’ll be making (or trying to make) your scrumptious cake. I love vanilla and cinnamon. Thank you for offering this great giveaway. The colors of the products are gorgeous.

You had me at browned butter!

And thanks for the awesome giveaway! The first thing I’d make is browned butter chocolate chip cookies!

I am literally…as in RIGHT now…on my way home from Afghanistan and have been deprived of fresh vegetables for MONTHS. I found this AWESOME recipe for brown butter garden vegetable pasta skillet that I have been dreaming about–even if “garden vegetables” aren’t necessarily in season, I’m sure they will be far more fresh than whatever mass-thawed frozen vegetable selection I have been eating!

I’ve never made browned butter, but you describe it deliciously and now I must try. I think this cake sounds like a great way to sample the flavor of the browned butter, or maybe it would be nice drizzled over a zuchini bundt cake

I have never browned butter before, but would definitely love to try it in a nice dessert or pasta dish!! Are there many brown butter pasta sauce recipes out there? 🙂

I would have to start experimenting with some brown butter pasta – we love butter and pasta, and yet I’ve never done a brown butter sauce!

I have yet to try browned butter, and I really want to make browned butter chocolate chip cookies. That would be my first. Hope I win!

Because I’m 35 weeks pregnant, I will most definitely make chocolate chip cookies with glorious butter. These last few weeks are a doozy, but cookies always make everything better!

Mmmm! I love me some brown butter, especially over pasta! I’ve been wanting to experiment with brown butter in the sweets I make, so I’d use the butter giveaway items to start me on my merry way! Can’t wait to try this cake, Lauren!
