Apple Pecan Salad is made with crunchy, salty, and sweet ingredients all tossed together with a homemade balsamic dressing. Apples + Bacon + Pecans + Garlicky Balsamic goodness = one heck of a party in your mouth. It’s the perfect salad for Fall. If you love a balsamic dressing, you’ll also love my Caprese Salad Recipe!
Why You’ll Love This Salad
It’s so easy! This is a salad you’ll keep coming back to again and again. Made with your favorite salad greens, hickory smoked bacon crumbles, crisp juicy apple, toasted pecans and drizzled with my homemade balsamic vinegar dressing. It’s fancy enough to serve as a side dish to a holiday meal and easy enough to have on any night of the week.
How to Make Apple Pecan Salad
For full recipe details, including ingredients needed and measurements, see the printable recipe card down below. Here is what you can expect when putting together this salad:
Prep Salad Veggies
Place chopped or torn lettuce, cooked and crumbled bacon and diced apple into a large bowl.
Make the Dressing
Whisk clove, dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper together.
Toss Dressing and Salad Together
Toss dressing with salad and serve.
Storing Leftovers + Make Ahead Directions
Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. As far as making this salad ahead of time, I would recommend making the dressing a day or two before, and do everything else the day of when you want to serve it. This will save you a little bit of time, but not a ton. Be sure to give the dressing a quick whisk to remix before adding to the salad.
Frequently Asked Questions About Apple Pecan Salad
I used red leaf lettuce, but I also like to use romaine or other mixed greens.
I like fuji apples for this salad. You could also use gala or honey crisp. Use what you like.
Absolutely! A little feta cheese crumbles, parmesan, blue cheese or goat cheese would be a great addition!

Love this salad. Des was ridiculous. So glad someone else said something about Sean and Catherine. Love you for that!
I know if I make this salad, it will be the only thing I eat for weeks straight! It sounds fantastic!
A delicious looking salad!
Brooks is TOTALLY not as into Des as she is into him. This is NOT going to end well. I think she should have sent him home and kept poor Zak…though I am now rooting for Zak to be next Bachelor! Whooo! (I thought he was a dumb bro at the beginning but these last few episodes convinced me otherwise. Even if his family singing to Des was a little creepy and weird. Also, who knew that a nose adjustment was a thing? Hometown dates are always so weird.)
Oh, And I didn’t care much for Sean picking Catherine, either. They don’t seem to match for me. This stuff clearly consumes me, too.
Made this for dinner tonight – soooooo good! Totally wowed my husband and 19 year old son! So easy, too – I had everything I needed in my fridge and pantry!
I love when I have everything on hand!! Glad your family enjoyed this salad!
I love this salad. I almost always have this stuff in the fridge. It’s a great way to use more greens too 🙂
This looks so amazing! This is going on my menu for next week!
Sounds amazing! Great looking salad!!!
Catching up on The Bachelorette tonight. I think my evening also needs to involve this salad….love everything that’s going on here!
Um… yes! I need this entire bowl right now
I love that you’re doing a video journal. How fun! Wow, this salad rocks. I can’t wait to try it.
I love every part of this recipe.. I love finding new salad dressing recipes.
This looks incredible! Thanks for doing more salad recipes 🙂
And I never liked Catherine and Sean together!
I thought from the beginning she would pick Brooks but I like you am getting a little worried about her crying. But I have a bad feeling thinking one of them in the next episode either wants to go home or does not want to get married, or something crazy. But I think having a salad and watching reality TV seems like a great way to end the day. Can’t wait to try it out!
You think?? Uh-oh….now I’m worried!! In a preview from last week or the week before, they show everyone crying!! What the heck is going to happen?
Those videos! So cute and how fun!
This salad? Probably one of my new favorites! It sounds perfect, Lauren!
I love that you are doing a video journal! Are you just using your phone? Awesomeness. Why didn’t I think of that for the couple weeks that Cade was gone?!
Simple ingredients with big flavor in this salad. I can see this will be family favorite in my house.
I know I’m going to make and love this salad! Great idea to make daily videos for your husband while he’s away.
I love the video idea! Hmm it probably would have been great while my hubby was gone for 5 (yes FIVE) weeks. He just got home and had to go right back to work… ugh thank you Uncle Sam. Oh yeah he is an active duty reservist so he works/lives/breathes “work” 24/7. 5 weeks at Quantico… and we have 6 weeks to look forward to next year. during which time we have the middle boy turning 18 as well as his graduation from high school… and he will more than likely be leaving for boot camp soon after…. okay we will not borrow trouble. especially since our eldest is currently gone… flew the coop… joined the army (active duty) and is in bootcamp… goal… Army Ranger… he’s loving everything so far… qual’d on the range in the first 20 minutes. I digress… can you tell i am missing adult “conversation”?
This salad… THANK YOU, Bless you!!! You have saved me!!! WE ate something similar at a local restaurant recently and I’ve struggled to recreate the dressing… girl THIS is it!!! yes i just made salad dressing at 9:00 but as soon as I read this it just clicked…. so insanely good! (i added a few dried cherries to the little bit of salad i tried this one… died, i repeated died!!! it was so good!!!) My family will thank you for this!
This could totally be my new fav salad too!
I’ve been in such a salad rut! I love all the sweet, salty, savory you got going on in this! Looks so good 🙂
That looks great! How cute that you are making videos of what you and the kids are up to – he’ll love that!
