Aperol Spritz

What is an Aperol Spritz and Why You’ll Love it

An Aperol Spritz is a popular Italian summer cocktail that’s both refreshing and easy to make. It’s made with three main ingredients: Prosecco, Aperol, and club soda served over ice, along with a slice of orange for garnish. With its balance of bitter and sweet flavors, it’s a favorite among cocktail lovers all over the world as a Italian aperitif (pre-dinner drink) for aperitivo hour (happy hour) or to enjoy for summer evening patio sipping!

While 3-2-1 are the official “parts” for an Aperol spritz, some bartenders like to add more champagne to the mixture, and I actually prefer it that way. While I was in Argentina (which has a large Italian population), they only measured the Aperol, skipped the club soda altogether and then filled the rest of the glass with Prosecco. Feel free to make this classic cocktail recipe your own and play around with different measurements. This recipe makes one drink. FAQ for Aperol Spritz Cocktails

Can you freeze Aperol Spritzes?

No. This cocktail is a good drink that is best enjoyed fresh and “made to order”.

Can you make Aperol Spritz ahead of time?

It’s best to make Aperol Spritz fresh to enjoy its bubbly goodness, but you can prep and measure the ingredients in advance and assemble just before serving. I like to keep everything in the fridge before serving.

How do you store Aperol Spritz?

Store leftover Aperol and Prosecco in the fridge, and keep club soda in a cool, dry place. Assemble the cocktail just before serving for the best taste.
