Roasted Asparagus Recipe

You’ll only need three ingredients to make perfect roasted asparagus. Then once you get the base right, you can add whatever seasonings you’d like to customize this side dish to your main course.

  • Asparagus – of course, you’ll need asparagus to make this roasted asparagus recipe. Try to look for a bunch with similar thickness throughout.
  • Olive Oil – this should evenly coat the asparagus stalks to roast correctly.
  • Salt and Pepper – to taste! If you like it saltier, add some more salt.

How to Roast Asparagus

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Wash asparagus and dry in a clean kitchen towel. Snap woody ends off of each piece. (If you try to bend it close to the ends, it will naturally break.)
  3. Place whole asparagus spears onto a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to coat. Spread to create one even layer on the baking sheet and bake 10-15 minutes or until browned to your liking.
  4. Remove from oven and serve hot.

How Long to Roast Asparagus

It really depends. If you have very skinny asparagus, this might only take 5-10 minutes. If your asparagus is thicker, this will be 10-15 minutes. So try to find a bunch that has around the same thickness throughout.

    Hi Lauren,
Can’t wait to try this recipe! I was just at our local grocery store and asparagus was on sale! I usually cook asparagus on the stove – but this sounds so easy!! I don’t really like to cook much ( cuz I’m not that great at it!) I like to bake though😂 Thanks for having such clear directions on your recipes.
