Everything Bagel Peppers

Why You’ll Love This Recipe!

You are going to love this Everything Bagel Peppers recipe – unless, of course, you have an aversion to mouthwatering flavor explosions and culinary genius. With the zesty punch of Everything Bagel Seasoning, they’re a crispy, savory, and slightly snobby twist on your everyday veggie dish. So, brace yourself for an experience that’ll make you question why you ever settled for plain old peppers. It’s the gourmet upgrade your taste buds never knew they desperately needed.

What is Everything Bagel Seasoning?

It’s the perfect mixture of 6 different seeds and spices which taste great together. These include sesame seeds both white and black, poppy seeds, dried onion and garlic flakes, and sea salt. A little sprinkle takes your dishes and snacks to the next level! Back in the day, I used to only be able to find it at Trader Joes, but now I have found it in most well stocked grocery stores.

Bell Peppers – Nutritious AND Delicious!

A fun fact about vitamin C in bell peppers is that they contain significantly more vitamin C than many other fruits and vegetables, including oranges. While oranges are often celebrated for their vitamin C content, bell peppers, especially the red variety, actually have about twice as much vitamin C per 100 grams when compared to oranges. So, if you’re looking to boost your vitamin C intake, snacking on bell peppers can be a healthy addition to your diet!

How to Make Everything Bagel Peppers

Making these with sweet mini peppers is my favorite! For full recipe details, see the printable recipe card down below. Here is step by step how to throw these together:

Everything Bagel Peppers ingredients

Wash + Remove Seeds From Peppers

Wash and slice peppers lengthwise. Remove seeds and veins. Keep stem on for a pop of green, if desired.

Pro Tip: You’ll want to use the bagged mini sweet peppers that are sold in the produce section at your local grocery store.

Fill Peppers with Cream Cheese

Fill the pepper halves with cream cheese as generously as you desire, smoothing out as you go.

Pro Tip: Fill a frosting piping bag with the cream cheese mixture for an alternate way to fill the peppers.

Sprinkle each pepper with Everything Bagel Seasoning (or dip peppers in a small bowl of seasoning for easier cleanup).

Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Storing Everything Bagel Peppers

Store peppers in a single layer, in an airtight container with good fitting lid. These should be stored in the fridge since they have cream cheese in them. They will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of peppers can I use?

I prefer the bagged sweet mini peppers found in the produce section at the grocery store. They are sweet, lack the heat and spice of other peppers, are crunchy, and really pack a punch of flavor and nutrition! You can use jalapeño peppers, but that would then make this a jalapeño poppers recipe. 😉

Can I added some protein to these?

Yes! Adding protein like crumbled bacon, Italian sausage, even some shredded cheese (like cheddar cheese) over the top would bring these to next level status! Alternatively, you could add green onions, fresh chives or other fresh herbs to this low-carb snack as well!

What could I use instead of cream cheese for the filling?

A good alternative could be plain greek yogurt, sour cream or some soft goat cheese. If you are wanting to use something else for dietary reasons, you could use a dairy-free cream cheese or vegan cream cheese.

Can I make this in advance?

Yes! Make these up to a day before you need them. Store in the fridge covered.

How many peppers does this recipe make?

This recipe will make 36 half peppers. Hello super bowl party!

Do you recommend freezing these?

No. I don’t like the way cream cheese separates and becomes grainy. I don’t recommend freezing these raw mini peppers.
