Mojito Mocktail | A Minty Limeade

I love a good Mocktail and thrilled to be sharing a Mojito version with you today! A traditional Mojito is made with muddled mint leaves, lime juice, simple syrup, white rum and sparkling water. Because this is a Mocktail, it’s essentially a bubbly, minty limeade. So refreshing, so delicious and perfect for kids, pregnant women and anyone who would like a non-alcoholic drink.

Main Ingredients Needed

Both Mojitos and Mojito Mocktails share all the same ingredients list, except for the alcohol! Here’s what you will need:

  • Fresh Mint Leaves
  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • Simple Syrup
  • Sparkling Water

Sparkling Water Substitutes

While I recommend using a plain sparkling water or lime lecroix, you have lots of other options! Club Soda, Seltzer Water, Sprite or 7-Up all work great! You just want to add that carbonation to get those tasty bubbles in this mocktail.

A Note About Simple Syrup

If you’ve been around the culinary block a few times, you’ll be very familiar with simple syrup. If you’re new here, don’t be scared! Simple syrup is simply equal parts granulated sugar and water that are boiled together briefly until the sugar has completely dissolved and turned into a syrup. Bring to room temperature and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month before using.

How to Make a Mojito Mocktail

Step 1: Muddle the Mint

In the bottom of your glasses, add the fresh mint leaves and half of the lime juice. Using a cocktail muddler, muddle the mint to release it’s flavor. Add in remaining lime juice.

Step 2: Stir in Simple Syrup and Ice

Measure out your simple syrup into each glass and stir. Top off with ice. This is the ice maker we have that gives us amazing pellet ice that you see in these photos. It’s perfect for cocktails and mocktails!

Step 3: Top off with Sparkling Water

Finish off your mojito mocktail with a little sparkling water, stir and enjoy! Garnish with lime slices and extra mint. Enjoy!

What Alcohol Would I Add To Make This a Mojito?

Traditional alcoholic mojitos are made with white rum. Because a mojito is made with lime juice, simple syrup and sparkling soda water (or something effervescent), the white rum goes mostly unnoticed and is easy to drink.
