This Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole is a spin on the classic French version, made into a casserole. It is a delicious combination of rotisserie chicken and diced ham covered with Swiss cheese and homemade creamy sauce, topped with buttered breadcrumbs. Serve with a salad like my pear salad or steamed or roasted veggies like roasted carrots for a great meal.
What is Chicken Cordon Bleu?
“Cordon Bleu” refers to chicken stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese. Traditionally, breaded chicken breast is stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese and baked. With this recipe, I have deconstructed the classic version and made it into a casserole. It’s comforting, tasty and a crowd pleasing dinner.

Great make ahead and freeze dish. My dad enjoys the addition of a spoonful of Dijon mustard to the roux and frozen broccoli .
Sounds amazing Rebecca! Thanks for your comment. 🙂
Delicious! Was a big hit with the whole family.
Love this recipe, something so simple was very good. Followed the recipe the first time which was very good. The next time I made this I decided to add some Dijon mustard. This is one of my go to recipes.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Haven’t had this but it looks perfect!!
This was so good! Everyone loved it. The only thing I would change for next time is to put the breadcrumbs on after it has baked since they got soggy baking on top of the sauce.
