Why You’ll Fall in Love with these Cinnamon Roll Pretzels

If you’re a fan of cinnamon rolls or homemade soft pretzels, this mashup will quickly become one of your favorite snacks. It’s an easy recipe that requires simple ingredients you likely already have at home, and it comes together in less time than it takes to bake a batch of cookies. The best part? The white chocolate drizzle adds just the right amount of sweetness to balance the crunchy pretzels and cinnamon sugar coating. Plus, these are great gifts during the holiday season or a fun way to spend quality time with the entire family.

A bowl of pretzels sits invitingly alongside small bowls of melted butter, shredded cheese, sugar, and cinnamon on a marbled surface, creating the perfect setup for crafting your own cinnamon roll pretzels.

Ingredients Needed for Cinnamon Roll Pretzels

  • Pretzels: Any shape will work, but I prefer the original pretzel shape for these.
  • Unsalted Butter: Melted butter helps the cinnamon sugar stick to the pretzels.
  • Granulated Sugar: Adds sweetness and caramelizes slightly during baking.
  • Ground Cinnamon: For that classic cinnamon roll flavor.
  • Vanilla Candy Melts or White Chocolate: Melts easily for drizzling.

Variations

  • Use Brown Sugar: Swap out white sugar for brown sugar to add a richer flavor.
  • Coconut Oil: Replace butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • Add a Pinch of Salt: Enhance the flavor by sprinkling flaky sea salt over the white chocolate drizzle.
  • Spices: Mix in nutmeg or cardamom for a spiced twist.
  • Soft Pretzel Bites: You can follow a classic homemade soft pretzel recipe and add the cinnamon sugar coating before baking.

How to Make Cinnamon Roll Pretzels

For full recipe details, including ingredient measurements, see the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. Here are my step by step directions for making these tasty Cinnamon Roll Pretzels:

1. Preheat Oven + Prep Baking Sheet

Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

2. Prep the Pretzels

In a large bowl, toss pretzels with melted butter. In a small bowl, stir sugar and cinnamon together then toss with buttered pretzels.

3. Bake

Spread pretzels out in an even layer on prepared baking sheet and bake 12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 10 minutes.

4. Drizzle with Chocolate

In a small microwavable bowl, microwave vanilla candy melts in 15-20 second increments until smooth and melted, stirring in between sessions.

Using a piping bag, squeeze bottle, or just a spoon, drizzle melted chocolate over the pretzels. After about 5 minutes, the candy melt should harden and you can serve! Package them in a decorative bag or box for a great holiday gift.

Storage Directions for Cinnamon Roll Pretzels

Keep your cinnamon roll pretzels in a paper bag or an airtight container to maintain their crunch. These pretzels stay fresh in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–4 days.

To Freeze: Once the pretzels are completely cooled and the chocolate is set, store them in an airtight container and freeze for up to a month.
