Taco Lettuce Wraps

Being on somewhat of a healthy/low carb kick has had me thinking outside the box. Taco Lettuce Wraps aren’t exactly a groundbreaking discovery, but it’s a lot healthier and figure-friendly to use lettuce in place of tortillas or taco shells. Plus the green color makes them look extra pretty! And I’m pretty sure it’s a scientific fact that pretty food tastes better than ugly food….however this recipe and this recipe are exceptions to that rule.

Main Ingredients Needed

You don’t need much to make these taco lettuce wraps! Simple ingredients with incredible and tasty results. Here’s what you need:

  • Bibb Lettuce – bibb lettuce leaves are the perfect size for small tacos! Remember to wash your produce.
  • Taco Meat – use chicken, beef, or pork to fill your taco lettuce wraps.
  • Cheese – I used the Mexican blend pre-shredded cheese but you can use what you like here. Cotija cheese is a great option.
  • Tomatoes – wash and chopped!
  • Onion – any type of onion is good but red onions bring a sharp taste with wonderful color.
  • Salsa – store-bought or ever homemade salsa!
  • Avocado – creamy and fresh, avocados are so good.
  • Cilantro – for a garnish and taste. If you hate the taste of cilantro just leave it out.
  • Sour Cream – creamy with a slight tang.

Feel free to not use any of the toppings listed above and customize to your heart’s desire!

I would make tacos everyday if my family would agree to it. These look amazing and I love that they’re low carb. Pinned and can’t wait to try these!
