Ingredient Notes + Variations
Simple ingredients, big payoff. This recipe leans on classic pizza flavors layered into soft rolls, then baked until melty and golden.
- Sweet Hawaiian rolls – Soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for sliders. Keep them attached so everything bakes evenly.
- Mozzarella cheese – Melts smoothly and gives that stretchy pizza pull. Provolone works too.
- Pepperoni – Adds that familiar pizza flavor. Turkey pepperoni works if you prefer.
- Ground Italian sausage – Cooked first, then mixed with sauce for a rich, hearty layer.
- Pizza sauce – Use your favorite jarred sauce or homemade.
- Butter – Brushed on top for color and flavor.
- Italian seasoning + garlic powder – Sprinkled on top for that bakery-style finish.

- Melt the first layer of cheese before adding toppings so everything sticks together.
- Use parchment or foil for easy cleanup and smooth serving.
- Let the sliders sit for a few minutes before cutting so the layers hold.
